Dear Friend,

Happy National Farmer's Day!

In Ohio, one out of every seven jobs comes from the agriculture industry making it one of the largest economic drivers in our state. As a member of the Agriculture Committee, I'm working to expand market access for agricultural products, peel back burdensome regulations that hamper our family farms, and defend America’s food security from foreign adversaries.

Below are some things I've been doing to strengthen the future of agriculture in Ohio. Click on these links or keep reading below for more details.

Stay up-to-date with my work in Washington and in our district by visiting my website and following me on Facebook, X, and Instagram.

Best wishes,

The Farm Bill is passed by Congress every five years and authorizes programs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Passing a new and updated Farm Bill has been one of my top priorities.

I recently joined 139 other members of Congress in a letter to Speaker Johnson about the importance of passing a robust Farm Bill this year. The pending bill is what farmers across the country need to thrive. Read the letter here

I spearheaded several legislative initiatives that were included in the bill that passed out of committee.

  • The Food Supply Chain Capacity and Resiliency Act – strengthens the food supply chain and make food more affordable for consumers
  • The Mechanization and Automation Accelerated Research Act – promotes advanced technologies for more efficient agriculture production, which means more affordable prices for consumers
  • TheTraining and Nutrition Stability Act – incentivizes people who are eligible for SNAP benefits to take advantage of workforce training programs
  • The Farm to Fly Act – bolsters American energy resources.

I introduced the Supporting Innovation in Agriculture Act to provide tax incentives to accelerate the deployment of innovative farming technologies for U.S. specialty crop producers. This bipartisan legislation will allow our agriculture industry to expand its use of innovative technologies, enhance domestic food production, and make prices more affordable for Ohioans.
