Dear Friend,

I'm happy to be back in Ohio this weekend but I wanted to share a brief congressional update from this last week:

  • The House passed my IMPACT Act to increase American competitiveness in concrete, asphalt, and cement production.
  • I held a telephone town hall on Monday. Almost 12,000 people joined in to ask great questions and have a respectful conversation. Listen to the recording below.
  • Congressman Carey and I introduced the Improve Transparency and Stability for Families and Children Act to ensure vital resources get to struggling families in need while bringing accountability and transparency to the system.
  • Take my survey below, I want to know what you think!

Keep reading below for more details.

As always, stay up-to-date with my work in Washington and in our district by visiting my website and following me on Facebook, X, and Instagram.

Best wishes,

The House passed my IMPACT Act to strengthen and enhance the competitiveness of American manufacturing! This legislation will improve the efficiency of domestic cement, concrete, and asphalt production for decades to come.

Along with my House Ways and Means Committee colleague Mike Carey (OH-15), I introduced legislation to expedite the disbursement of payments to families in need through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program (TANF). The bill, titled the Improve Transparency and Stability for Families and Children Act, would require states to allocate and distribute federal funding they receive for TANF within three years.

This bill will ensure vital resources are targeted to struggling families in a timely manner while bringing needed accountability and transparency to the system. I applaud Congressman Carey and the work of the Ways and Means Committee that will create more efficiencies for both American families and taxpayers.
