Dear Friend,

Some big things happened in Washington this week and I wanted to give you a quick update.

  • As a member of the Ways & Means Committee, I participated in a hearing on fair trade and securing long-term economic growth.
  • I celebrated the retirement of Chief Czack, the first female Chief in Parma Heights Police Department history.
  • The House passed a Budget Resolution to deliver on President Trump's agenda.
  • I reintroduced the Farm to Fly Act to create new, robust markets for American agricultural products and strengthen domestic energy resources.
  • NASA has always been about pushing boundaries, pioneering new frontiers, and driving technological excellence. Read why I think Northeast Ohio would be a great home for NASA below.

As always, stay up-to-date with my work in Washington and in our district by visiting my website and following me on Facebook, X, and Instagram.

Best wishes,

Ensuring fair trade is not just about protecting American industry – it’s about defending our workers, strengthening our businesses, and securing long-term economic growth and security.

Chief Czack has dedicated her career to upholding the law, protecting her community, and leading with integrity. With over 35 years of service in law enforcement, Tanya has risen through the ranks, starting as a dispatcher and becoming the first female chief in her department's history.

For 17 years, she has been an instructor at police academies, preparing the next generation of law enforcement officers to serve with honor, courage, and dedication to justice.  Our community is made better by people like Chief Czack, and I thank her for her selfless service and wish her a very happy retirement.

Many people across the country have expressed concerns with the House Budget Resolution bill due to worries about cuts to federal spending programs. That said, I want to clarify what this budget resolution does and what it means for these programs.

The budget resolution does not provide funding for federal programs or change tax law, which means none of these programs will be changed through the resolution. Instead, it serves as a blueprint to help guide Congress and its Committees on budget issues and set spending and revenue targets for Congress. H.Con.Res.14 passed out of the House on February 25th as the first step in the bicameral budget reconciliation process.

This week I reintroduced the Farm to Fly Act to create new, robust markets for American agricultural products and strengthen domestic energy resources. The Farm to Fly Act was largely adopted within the 2024 House Agriculture Committee Farm Bill.

The Farm to Fly Act will provide access to new markets for our nation’s farmers, drive rural economic development, and strengthen our domestic energy resources. I look forward to seeing this bill lift American farmers to new heights and strengthen our nation’s energy supply.

This administration has made its priorities clear: decentralizing government, cutting unnecessary workforce costs, and reinvigorating in-person collaboration. Moving NASA’s HQ to Ohio checks every box. This transition would eliminate bureaucratic waste, enhance efficiency, and strengthen accountability while supporting a region that has proven itself as a leader in aerospace, space technology, and advanced manufacturing.
