Dear Friend,

I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day! It’s been a busy few weeks in Congress and I wanted to share 3 big things that I’ve been working on:

  1. BBB - I proudly voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill. A strong, pro-America bill that delivers for American families, workers, farmers, and small businesses.
  2. Time is Money- Passengers shouldn’t have to front the bill for airline delays. My Time is Money Act puts passengers first and holds airlines accountable.
  3. Weather - My bill, the Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act, will enhance and modernize the United States' weather and climate prediction capabilities.

Keep reading below for more details.

As always, stay up-to-date with my work in Washington and in our district by visiting my website and following me on Facebook, X, and Instagram.

On July 3, 2025, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and on July 4, 2025, President Trump signed it into law.

The One Big Beautiful Bill is an economic lifeline for working families. It blocks the largest tax hike in American history by locking in the lower tax rates and pro-family policies from the 2017 Trump tax cuts. My Permanent Tax Cuts for American Families Act makes permanent the doubled standard deduction, helping the 91 percent of taxpayers who utilize this simplified filing option. A typical family of four in Ohio’s 7th Congressional District earning the median income will be spared a $1,706 tax hike. Ohio families cannot afford a tax increase.

Additional critical relief for working families includes:

  • Expanding access to the childcare credit and making the paid leave tax credit permanent.

  • Cementing and boosting the Child Tax Credit at $2,200 for more than 80,000 families in Ohio's 7th Congressional District.

  • No tax on tips, overtime pay, or car loan interest.

  • Tax relief for seniors.

  • A minimum 12 percent tax cut for households earning less than $100,000.

  • Preserving taxpayer-funded health benefits for vulnerable Americans.

  • Increasing domestic energy production, lowering energy prices.

This bill lowers taxes, secures the border, cuts red tape, reduces government spending, projects strength globally, secures Medicaid for the most vulnerable, and restores American energy dominance.

I introduced the Time is Money Act to require airlines to compensate passengers for significantly delayed or altered flights.

Passengers shouldn’t have to front the bill for airline delays. Hard-working Americans don’t have endless time to waste stuck in terminals before qualifying for compensation. Every hour spent waiting is time taken from work, family, and other responsibilities. The Time is Money Act puts passengers first and holds airlines accountable.

The bill directs the Secretary of Transportation to revise existing regulations, lowering the delay threshold from 3 hours to 2 hours for domestic flights and from 6 hours to 5 hours for international flights. The change ensures passengers receive compensation sooner when their travel plans are disrupted.

I introduced the Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act to enhance and modernize the United States’ weather and climate prediction capabilities through advanced computing, with a focus on collaboration between the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Accurate and timely weather forecasts are critical for public safety, disaster preparedness, and economic resilience. This bill ensures the U.S. stays at the forefront of weather and climate prediction by harnessing advanced computing, ultimately reducing risks from severe weather and environmental hazards.
