Many across our district recently took time to celebrate Passover and Easter. This beautiful time of year is a time to reflect and refresh.
I head back to Washington next week, but wanted to share some highlights from the last few days.
- Along with Senator Husted and Governor DeWine, I met with STEM students at the Great Lakes Science Center. We also discussed our efforts to make Ohio the new home of NASA Headquarters.
- I was pleased to announce the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art competition at a reception with the finalists and their families. See the winners below.

I was joined by Governor DeWine and Senator Husted to meet with STEM students at the Great Lakes Science Center. We also met with the media to discuss Ohio’s effort to become the new home of NASA’s headquarters and expand missions for the world’s leading space organization.
Ohio is ready to take NASA to new heights. From cutting-edge research to a skilled, motivated workforce, this state has everything needed to propel the agency into the future. We’re not just prepared; we’re built for it. NASA Glenn is where innovation happens. A fresh, reenergized workforce in Ohio would ensure that NASA remains at the forefront of innovation, unburdened by the inertia of outdated structures in Washington. The students we met with at the science center are proof of that. STEM is all about solving real problems. We need sharp, creative minds to lead in AI, robotics, and space technology. These students are future leaders, scientists, doctors, and astronauts. Ohio really does lead the way.

Congratulations to Natasha Rehlender, an 11th grader from Padua Franciscan High School, on winning the OH-07 2025 Congressional Art Competition with her piece “In the Kitchen.”
Congratulations to Charlie Reynolds, a 10th grader from Westlake High School, on winning the People’s Choice Award with the piece “Adam and Aurora.”
Art has always been a powerful reflection of who we are. It captures our hopes, our history, and our humanity. What I’ve seen through this year’s submissions is nothing short of inspiring. These students took a blank canvas and turned it into something meaningful, something that tells a story, sparks a conversation, or simply brings joy to those who see it. I want to thank each and every one of you who participated. Your dedication, your vision, and your willingness to put your work out there is something to be proud of.
