Dear Friend,

I hope you had a great 4th of July holiday. This week, Congress got back to work on defending the integrity of elections, protecting consumer choice, and standing up for women and girls. Here's an update:

  • I voted for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to require proof of United States citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections. The message is clear: only Americans should vote in American elections.
  • I recognized Olmsted Falls native and Olympic Gold Medalist Katie Moon, who will represent Team USA at the Paris Olympics competing in the pole vault.
  • The Science, Space, and Technology Committee passed the NASA Reauthorization Act, which included my NASA Talent Exchange Program Act, to ensure American leadership in space and strengthen NASA Glenn, an economic driver in Ohio.
  • To preserve consumer choice, I voted to protect home appliances from burdensome and unaffordable regulations. Americans are paying enough!
  • Congress continued the effort to protect women and girls in schools and sports.
