Dear Friend,

Summer is finally here and it was great to spend Memorial Day in Ohio with you! I'll be back in DC next week but here's a quick update.

  • ICYMI: The House Agriculture Committee advanced the Farm Bill which sets federal policies for the Department of Agriculture. Several pieces of legislation that I helped write were included. Read more below.

  • I spent Memorial Day in Cuyahoga County with many of you. Let us remember the purpose of the holiday and never forget our fallen U.S. military personnel.
  • Stay tuned, next week the House is scheduled to begin voting on appropriations bills that fund the federal government. This process was a mess last year but I am hopeful that we can have a more regular and orderly process this time around.
  • Thank you to all of you who took my survey about foreign gifts to American colleges and universities, see the results below!
