It was a busy week in Washington, and I am so glad to be back in Ohio for a few days. We were able to address some big things in the House this week and I want to give you an update.

The House voted on an aid package to support our allies abroad. See my full statement below.
I gave a speech on the House floor to stress the importance of passing an updated Farm Bill that works for both the agriculture industry and consumers.

Supporting Our Allies Abroad

Your opinion matters to me. Thanks to everyone who responded to my email earlier this week. I asked if you supported sending military aid to our allies abroad. 57% of you supported passing aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan. 19% of you were not in favor of any emergency aid for other countries.

Today I plan to vote to strengthen America’s national security and help restore America’s leadership on the world stage, which has diminished considerably the last three years.

History has taught us an important lesson: America is most secure when our allies are strong and our enemies are afraid.

My primary obligation in Congress is to help protect America. The supplemental spending bills counter the Biden administration’s weak defense policy decisions and will protect America’s national security.

ICYMI: Farm Bill Floor Speech

In Ohio, the agriculture industry provides one out of every seven jobs and is the foundation of our economy. I have heard farmers' and ranchers' concerns about continued inflationary pressures, regulatory hurdles, limited trade markets, animal health, and a broad range of other issues. Failure to pass an updated Farm Bill could exacerbate these already growing problems and have a devastating impact on our economy and food supply chains. I hope that my colleagues will recognize the magnitude of these issues and help us to pass a sound Farm Bill quickly.
