The House of Representatives had a busy week!

I gave a speech about the importance of career and technical education to commemorate Career and Technical Education Month.
I questioned Agriculture Secretary Vilsack about the need to expand markets for American farmers through increased trade opportunities, as well as my Farm to Fly Act.
I voted to unleash American energy by removing politically motivated roadblocks to natural gas exports.
I voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas for his willful disregard for our laws.

February is Career and Technical Education Month! It’s an opportunity to recognize the pivotal role that career and technical education plays in shaping our nation’s workforce. I look forward to continuing to advocate for career and technical education opportunities and empowering the rising generation to enter the workforce with practical skills needed for high-demand industries.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, Visited the House Committee on Agriculture

This week, at a House Agriculture Committee hearing, I was able to have a conversation with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack about issues important to Ohio. We spoke about the need to expand markets for our farmers through increased trade opportunities, as well as my Farm to Fly Act, which would drive rural economic development and strengthen energy production – a win for consumers.

The House Passed Legislation Unleashing American Energy Production

The domestic production of liquified natural gas (LNG) strengthens our economy and provides clean, affordable, and reliable American energy. Recently, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced that it was pausing the approval of LNG export permits, hamstringing American producers.

The Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act, which passed the House with a bipartisan vote, unleashes American LNG exports by taking the approval process out of the hands of political appointees at the Department of Energy.

The House Impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

I want to emphasize that I do not take impeachment lightly. The decision to impeach Secretary Mayorkas follows a thorough, year-long investigation into the causes, costs, and consequences of the Biden administration’s unprecedented border crisis.

There is no doubt that Secretary Mayorkas’ willful and systemic disregard for the law and breach of public trust are to blame. Americans deserve accountability.
