Dear Friend,
Since the House elected Speaker Mike Johnson, we’ve had a busy month in Congress working on the people’s business.
I’m very happy to say that I have also been busy back home, as Emily and I welcomed our daughter Ruth into the world this month. She’s already brought immeasurable joy to our lives.
This week in Washington, Congress passed a short-term funding bill. I’m standing firm on my position that we need to pass fiscally responsible appropriations bills that cut wasteful spending and stop kicking the can down the road with continuing resolutions that don't reduce spending.
So far, we’ve passed seven appropriations bills and I’m proud that included in these bills are critical funding resources for eight projects important to our communities throughout Northeast Ohio. But we need to do our job the right way and pass the remaining appropriations bills.
I also traveled to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the families of some of those who are being held hostage by Hamas.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming district work week in Ohio. As always, I’m excited to see many of you, but I’m most looking forward to being home with my family.
We have a lot of work to do, and the future is bright for Ohio and America!
And from my family to yours, I wish you a safe and blessed holiday season.
I hope you’ll stay up-to-date with my work in Washington and in our district by checking out my website and following me on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
