Dear Friend,

The past few weeks in Washington have been frustrating.

At the end of September, we had to pass a short-term funding bill so that we could finish passing fiscally responsible appropriations bills. Then, instead of continuing on with this work, Speaker McCarthy was removed from the Speaker’s job by 8 people who were more interested in pursuing personal political agendas than commonsense, conservative policies.

Now, the House still does not have a Speaker, leaving us paralyzed and unable to do the people’s work.

There is important business for Congress to address. We must finish the job of passing fiscally responsible appropriations bills that cut back on out-of-control spending by the Biden Administration, closing the open door that is allowing criminals, drugs, and perhaps terrorists to cross our southern border practically unchecked, and passing a Farm Bill that supports our farmers and is good for consumers.

Plus, we need to be ready to stand by our great friend and ally, Israel.

It's time to get back to work.

I've hosted a series of events this year to help Northeast Ohio Veterans get the benefits they've earned.

I was excited to see such great turnout at the most recent Veterans' Resource Fair in Medina. My team helped more than 50 veterans apply for benefits, request service medals, and learn about resources available to them.

I have no greater honor than assisting those who served and sacrificed for our country. If you or a veteran you know needs help with a federal agency, call my office or visit my website here!

What's happening in Israel right now is truly heartbreaking and deeply disturbing.

Two weeks ago, more than 1,000 HAMAS terrorists attacked our great friend and ally, Israel. Since then, HAMAS has perpetrated brutal and evil acts against innocent civilians. As of Friday, over 1,400 people, including at least 32 Americans, had been killed.

Our prayers are with all those being impacted by these abhorrent attacks. I strongly condemn these attacks against Israel and continue to support Israel's right to defend itself and its people.

Nominations are open for prospective students of our nation's Service Academies! It is a tremendous honor to receive a Congressional nomination and appointment to a Service Academy.  Only the brightest of America’s youth are offered a chance to attend one of these historic institutions.  An appointment comes with great responsibility.

This deadline is quickly approaching so please visit my website for more information about applying to a Service Academy!

This competition allows students to compete with their peers by creating and exhibiting a software application, or “app”, for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

These are important skills, and I hope that the app challenge will encourage more young people to pursue careers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)!
