Dear {{prefix}} {{lastname}},
Happy Friday!
This week, I remained focused on advancing commonsense solutions that put the American people ahead of political games and broken systems. From confronting the party politics blocking critical relief for Americans to fighting for the resources needed to protect Florida's 13th Congressional District, I worked to ensure practical solutions are not buried by politics or delay. I also continued fighting against radical socialism and the abuse of our citizenship laws by those who seek to destroy our nation from within. As we fight for a stronger America, I was also grateful to recognize the dedicated service of those who carried that message with strength and true patriotism.

Lower Rates, Less Politics
|
This week, it became clear that a commonsense cap on federal student loan interest is being held hostage by the fear of giving Republicans a win. Reports that Democrat leadership is discouraging support for a 2 percent cap show exactly where their priorities are, with Democrats in Congress more concerned about who gets credit than whether Americans get relief.
I do not support student loan bailouts, but Americans working to pay back what they borrowed should not be buried under interest while the federal government profits off their loans. This is a simple, fair fix, and I will continue fighting to bring H.R. 2003, the Affordable Loans for Students Act, to the floor and passed.

Delivering Critical Funding to USF
|
Last week, I presented $1.5 million in federal funding to the University of South Florida (USF) St. Petersburg for new equipment that will help improve how our region prepares for hurricanes and coastal hazards.
Stronger data means stronger forecasting, and ensuring our coastal communities are better prepared before the next storm is always a worthwhile investment. I am proud to have secured this investment for USF and support their critical work for the safety of our district.

Standing Against Democratic Socialism
|
This week, Americans saw the Democrat Party continue drifting toward the same radical communist ideology that has destroyed every country it has touched. While the Republican Party is not perfect, there is a clear difference between a party working to fix this country and a movement built on resentment, division, and policies that have no place in America.
These socialist candidates and activists claim to stand for working people while pushing an ideology that would punish success, weaken our country, and divide Americans by race. Socialism was barely stopped in Wisconsin, but the fact that the race was even close should be a wake-up call that we cannot afford to stay silent while radicals try to tear down the country that generations of Americans fought to build.

Putting an End to Birth Tourism
|
On Monday, I was proud to officially announce that I will be introducing legislation to codify President Trump’s Executive Order banning birth tourism in America. This loophole has become a Trojan horse for our adversaries, allowing those who do not have America’s interests at heart to exploit our citizenship laws from within.
American citizenship should never be treated as a tool for foreign exploitation, and we must take action before it becomes an even greater national security threat. I will keep fighting to close this loophole and protect our great nation from those who seek to infiltrate and weaken it from the inside.

Thank You for Your Service, Karoline!
|
I want to thank Karoline Leavitt for her outstanding service as White House Press Secretary as she prepares to depart the role. Karoline has represented the Trump Administration with strength, clarity, and conviction, earning her place as one of the best to ever hold the role and the title of a true patriot. She leaves big shoes to fill, and I wish her and her family the very best in this next chapter.
