Dear {{prefix}} {{lastname}},

Happy Friday!

This week, I remained committed to standing firm for the American people and advancing results that put our country first. From continuing to work across the aisle to ban toxic pesticides to commending President Trump’s agreement with Iran, I stayed focused on defending Americans’ health and national interests against the forces trying to undermine them. I was also honored to join Americans in celebrating the strength and freedom of our great nation. At home, my office continued working with federal and state partners to support the critical infrastructure Florida’s 13th District depends on every day.

People Over Pesticides

This week, I introduced the Paraquat Prevention Act, co-led by U.S Rep. Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-ME), to ban the toxic pesticide paraquat and protect Americans from Parkinson's disease. More than 70 countries, including every nation in the European Union, have already banned paraquat over its devastating exposure risks, yet America remains one of the few developed nations that still permits its use.

The United States has no business allowing a pesticide linked to Parkinson’s disease to continue being sprayed on American farmland, which is why paraquat must be removed from the market entirely and blocked from future reregistration. I am proud to co-lead this bipartisan legislation, and I will keep fighting to put Americans’ health ahead of chemical company interests.

Peace in the Middle East

This week, President Trump announced that the deal with Iran is finally complete. While many have tried to undermine any path toward peace, the President has remained focused on securing an outcome that serves our country and keeps America’s interests first.

This agreement is a major step toward stability in the Middle East and a reminder that real leadership can deliver results without caving to the voices rooting against peace. I commend President Trump for delivering where others could not, and I am proud to stand with him in building a nation that is safer and stronger for generations to come.

Fight Night for Freedom

This week, I was honored to attend the UFC fight hosted in celebration of President Trump’s birthday and the 250th birthday of our nation. The event was an incredible reminder of the patriotism and strength that make America worth celebrating, especially with so many of our service members represented and honored throughout the night.

I am grateful to the FBI and Secret Service for diverting all threats and ensuring this historic celebration of our nation could take place safely. Honoring 250 years of American service and freedom should not be controversial, and those attacking the celebration are only exposing their contempt for our country.

Sunshine Skyway Support

This week, members of my staff joined Federal Highway Administration Administrator Sean McMaster and Florida Department of Transportation leaders for a tour of the Sunshine Skyway and I-275 corridors to see major congestion relief work firsthand.

The Sunshine Skyway remains a crowning example of transportation ingenuity in our community, and continued improvements are critical as Florida keeps growing. This is exactly the kind of investment needed to strengthen the infrastructure we rely on every day.
