Dear {{prefix}} {{lastname}},

Happy Friday!

This week, I remained focused on delivering for our communities and standing firm on the values that define America's strength and security. From protecting our coastline to recognizing the men and women whose service continues to keep our nation safe, I worked to support the people and priorities needed to meet the challenges ahead. I also continued to speak out against political violence at a moment when peace and national security must remain the priority. The American people deserve a stronger, safer future, and I will continue fighting to ensure nothing stands in the way of the mission.

A Major Victory for Beach Renourishment

This week, I was honored to attend the signing of an official agreement between Pinellas County and the Army Corps to fund critical beach renourishment projects along our coastline. Local leaders have worked for years to secure this major win and resolve the long-standing barriers while ensuring private citizens are not forced to sign away their property rights in the process.

I am grateful to Assistant Secretary Telle, the Army Corps, and our county partners for the collaboration that delivered the shoreline protection our coastal communities have needed for years, ensuring they are protected and prepared heading into hurricane season.

SOF Week Spectacular

This week, I was honored to attend the annual Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week conference in Tampa, where I met with members of the defense community whose mission remains critical to the security of our nation. As a veteran myself, I understand that America’s strength depends on the men and women who are willing to serve in the most demanding roles, with a level of responsibility and sacrifice that deserves far greater recognition.

I was grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from those carrying out this mission and learn more about the support that can be provided at the Federal level. Our special operations forces help keep America ready, capable, and secure against emerging threats, and I will continue working to ensure that the people our country relies on most are equipped to protect us.

Peace Over Violence

Following Saturday’s attack at the White House, I am grateful for the bravery of the Secret Service agents whose decisive response ensured the safety of everyone on the ground and prevented the escalation of a serious threat.  As President Trump is working to secure peace with Iran and protect American lives, this kind of violence is unacceptable and should be condemned without hesitation.

The President has remained focused on reaching an agreement that serves America's best interests and guarantees the enduring strength and security of our nation. At such a critical moment for our future, political violence only adds chaos and directly endangers the lives of innocent people. I will stand with President Trump as he works to keep America safe, and I will continue condemning this madness in every form.
