Dear {{prefix}} {{lastname}},
Happy Friday!
As the new year begins, I hit the ground running, demanding accountability during a major oversight hearing on fraud in Minnesota and joining Governor Ron DeSantis, who endorsed my initiatives to ban congressional stock trading and announced similar efforts in Florida. From rooting out fraud to restoring integrity in government, 2026 is already off to a strong start.

Minnesota Oversight Hearings 🚨
On Wednesday, I participated in a hard-hitting hearing before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to examine the fraud schemes uncovered in Minnesota and the failure of state leadership to protect American taxpayers.
Based on sworn testimony presented at the hearing, I formally referred Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation, after evidence indicated knowing complicity in the Minnesota fraud scheme.
During the hearing, I also moved to subpoena journalist Seth Harp, who exposed the identity of a Delta Force operator by leaking classified intelligence related to Operation Absolute Resolve, the mission to take Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela into custody. That subpoena passed unanimously, and he will be required to testify before Congress.
Finally, I made clear that any individual convicted of fraud connected to this scheme should face denaturalization and deportation (in accordance with legal statutes) to El Salvador's CECOT prison, because U.S. citizenship is a privilege, not a right.
I take my role on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform seriously. Fraudsters, and the politicians who protect them, will be held fully accountable.

Ending Insider Trading in Florida 🐊 and D.C.
On Tuesday, I joined Governor Ron DeSantis at a press conference in Clearwater, where he supported my initiatives to ban congressional stock trading and outlined his proposal to require Florida congressional candidates to declare whether they will trade stocks while in office. Together, we underscored the need for accountability and clear ethical standards so public office is used to serve the people, not personal investment portfolios.

SBA Loans for Disaster Relief
Small businesses and private nonprofits across Florida impacted by last year’s drought may still be eligible for critical federal relief. The SBA is offering low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million to help cover payroll, rent, and other operating expenses, even if no physical damage occurred.
The deadline to apply is February 2, 2026, and I encourage any eligible business or nonprofit to visit here to learn more and apply before time runs out.
