Dear {{prefix}} {{lastname}},

Merry Christmas!

As the year comes to a close, momentum continues to build behind my discharge petition, despite opposition from Democratic leadership. This week, I also hosted a press conference demanding accountability for the persecution of Ukrainian Christians and met with Deputy Secretary of State Monica Crowley in the Lincoln Room at Blair House.

Corrupt Democrat Leadership Protects Insider Trading

Behind the scenes, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has quietly urged Democrat Members not to support my discharge petition to ban congressional stock trading. At a time when families are struggling and trust in Washington is at rock bottom, blocking accountability is indefensible. This kind of backroom dealing is exactly why I filed the discharge petition in the first place—to force transparency and accountability in Congress.

Despite the pressure, momentum continues to build. Seventy-four Members from both parties have already signed on. When leadership works to stop a reform supported by the overwhelming majority of Americans, it exposes just how deeply entrenched the swamp truly is.

Standing Against the Persecution of Christians in Ukraine

This Tuesday, I hosted a press conference with Orthodox Christian leaders to address the urgent need to defend religious freedom, both abroad and at home.

In 2024, Ukraine’s Security Service arrested Orthodox Bishop Arseniy. Soon after, Ukrainian authorities passed Law No. 3894-IX, legislation that effectively outlaws the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Human rights advocates, including the late Pope Francis, have condemned this law as a serious violation of religious freedom and Christian liberty.

The press conference reaffirmed our shared commitment to protecting the fundamental right to worship, especially during times of conflict. It is unacceptable for American taxpayer dollars to subsidize any government that persecutes Christians.

Meeting with Monica Crowley at Blair House

This Tuesday, I met with Deputy Secretary of State Monica Crowley in the historic Lincoln Room of the Blair House for a thoughtful discussion about the future of our country. We spoke about the importance of proper coordination between the Executive and Judicial branches, the need to root out deep state corruption that has eroded public trust, and my ongoing work to declassify long-hidden federal documents.

Rep. Nutmeg also made an appearance to inspect the Blair House’s gingerbread installation!

Sincerely,

U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna

Member of Congress
