Rep. Anna Paulina Luna newsletter banner image

It has been another busy week here in Washington fighting to ensure your voices are heard in Congress. We conducted an earth-shattering hearing on UAPs at the Oversight Committee and tackled the ongoing drug epidemic happening at our southern border right now. I spoke out strongly against the Mexican Drug Cartels that are flooding cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl into the United States.

I'll be doing everything in my power to ensure our southern border is secure.

Additionally, based on the evidence that we’ve seen in bank transactions, financial records, & sworn testimony, the evidence speaks for itself. It is clear to me that Joe Biden should be impeached.

Here's the latest on everything I've been working on...

Government Doesn't Want the Truth Revealed

On Wednesday, I spearheaded the effort on House Oversight Committee to get to the bottom of what the government is hiding from Congress and the American people related to Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP). This is an issue of national security, aviation safety, and government transparency.

We will continue the fight to release documentation, explanations, footage, and mountains of over-classified documents that continue to be hidden from the American people.

Joined Rep. Jared Moskowitz on MSNBC to Discuss Recent Revelations Surrounding UAP Hearing

After our hearing on Wednesday, I joined Chris Jansing Reports on MSNBC with my friend Rep. Moskowitz to discuss our next steps to demand transparency. We are currently working in a bipartisan manner to obtain a secured facility to follow up on classified information that could not be discussed in the public hearing.

My goal is to declassify and make public as much of the information as possible, but right now the government is stonewalling Congress such that we don’t even know the full picture. The American people deserve answers, not endless excuses.

Protecting Florida Against Invasive Species

In Florida, the Burmese python, which is the most concerning invasive species in the Everglades National Park, has led to a severe decline in mammal populations. These injurious invasive species pose a major threat to FL and our precious ecosystem. This week, I was excited to introduce the Lacey Act Amendments of 2023, which would fix loopholes in a long-standing conservation law, The Lacey Act, to better manage and limit the spread of invasive species that cause harm to the environment, economy, humans, animals, or plants.

My legislation would do the following to combat this problem:

  • Correct the negative impacts of a 2017 D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that greatly impacted the ability of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to manage the establishment and spread of invasive species in the United States.
  • Grant authority for emergency designation of species that pose an imminent threat and provide authority to prohibit importation of wildlife species until they have been assessed for the danger they pose.

I will continue to fight to preserve and protect Florida’s natural beauty. This is a wide-scale problem impacting ecosystems across our country, and I will be doing everything in my power to ensure that this problem is addressed. Sen. Marco Rubio introduced the same legislation in the senate. I am hopeful that we can pass this critical legislation and get it to the President’s desk.

Putting Our Veterans First

Daily Caller released an exclusive article on Wednesday regarding my newly introduced legislation this week, The Send Them, Treat Them Act, which would introduce common sense efficiency into the VA Disability Claims application process. This issue was brought to me by veterans in our district, who were frustrated with the prolonged and duplicative VA process. Thank you to these veterans and all who have served our nation!

I will never stop fighting for ensure that our veterans get the highest quality care and their benefits in a timely fashion. If we send our men and women in uniform overseas in service of our nation, we must treat them when they return. I will accept nothing less.
