Not a day goes by without something big happening here! My team was busy last week attending meetings in the district, helping problem-solve for my constituents, and fighting back against the constant disinformation pushed by the Biden White House and mainstream media about House Republicans' Budget Plan (hint: it does NOT cut VA benefits!)

Biden's bold-faced lie last week that the Republican budget "cuts" VA benefits got my blood boiling. This is nothing but blatant propaganda that exploits our service members for his own priorities!

Nowhere in the Republican Budget does it propose to cut VA benefits. In fact, it is the BIDEN White House who proposed cutting the VA budget by 22%!

Here's a deeper look at the Republican budget proposal and proof that Biden is lying.  

The Limit, Save, Grow Act that House Republicans passed last week balances the budget and would put a curb to the inflation that plagues American families.

Most Americans agree: return government spending to pre-pandemic levels! This is a commonsense proposal for the budget. And defunding Biden's IRS army, repealing Green New Deal tax credits, and reclaiming billions in unspent Covid dollars is a no-brainer.

Now it's on Biden to come to the negotiating table.

A big priority for me is ensuring that our sea turtles are protected in Pinellas, especially during nesting season. We all need to be doing our part to monitor the nests to keep these little creatures safe. The flyer above has important tips for you while out on the beaches in our district as the turtles begin to nest! 

Helpful Tip: In order to prevent nesting sea turtles from going off path, if you have a beachfront property, try using sea turtle friendly lighting. Taking these simple steps ensures that female sea turtles and their babies go towards the ocean! 

I was honored to participate in a coin ceremony for Air Force special warfare service members with Reps. Greg Steube, Ralph Norman, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz. The United States Air Force Combat Control Team and United States Air Force Tactical Air Control Party represent the best and bravest of our country.

Last weekend, we were honored the 48th Commemoration of the Fall of Saigon and spoke at the Black April wreath-laying ceremony.

Additionally, we solved 55 cases, met with students from Eckerd College, and met with county staff for a tour of the eroded beaches in the Sand Key Nourishment Project. We also attended the State of the Beaches townhall with local mayors and spearheaded award upgrades for veterans in the district.

Gus Bilirakis' (FL) Major Richard Star Act, which provides that combat-disabled uniformed services retirees with fewer than 20 years of creditable service may concurrently receive, without reduction, veterans' disability compensation and retired pay or combat-related special compensation.
