My first month in Washington has been one for the history books! From holding the line in the Speaker fight, to co-sponsoring Term Limits legislation like I said I would, to punching back at the mainstream media, I'm determined to keep representing you in D.C. 

Promises made, promises kept. Read on to see what I've been up to...

I stayed true to my word: that I would stand strong against the D.C. political elite in the election for Speaker of the House. Along with 19 courageous Republican colleagues, I refused to back down to the pressure of the Establishment until we got a deal that transformed our broken Congress. And that's exactly what we did. 

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again: I didn't come here to "conduct business as usual." I came here to change things. The historic changes to the Rules Package that the Patriot 20 negotiated will go down in history as transformational to this legislative body and how it functions. 

Here are some of the highlights:

• Motion to remove the Speaker of the House. The accountability mechanism built into the agreement allows any single Member to make the motion to remove Speaker McCarthy if he goes back on his word or policy agenda.
• A Committee on the Weaponization of the Government. For too long, federal agencies like the FBI, DOJ and NSA have been weaponized against the American people. This Committee is designed solely for us to investigate these woke and weaponized agencies. 
• A vote on Term Limits legislation. This is huge! I ran on term limits and can proudly say I co-sponsored and am eager to vote on legislation that would hold Members of Congress accountable by not allowing them to stay in office forever. 
• Single subject bills that can't be loaded with irrelevant nonsense. This shouldn't be controversial — neither should 72 hours for Members to actually read the bills they're voting on. 
• A Budget that stops the uncontrollable and wasteful spending that is crushing Americans and sending our country down a dangerous trajectory. 
• Ending ALL COVID mandates and funding and a Texas Border Plan. Enough said.

While the House was out of session, I flew back to spend time at home in beautiful Pinellas County. My District Office is fully open and my team is on the ground ready to serve you, whether that's with VA and military records, assistance with passports and tax returns, military academy nominations, flag requests, or Capitol Tours!

I’m thrilled to announce that I was selected to serve on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. I look forward to holding the Biden administration’s feet to the fire with Chairman Rep. James Comer (KY-01)! Look out, weaponized government agencies!

I will also be serving on the Natural Resources Committee. Ready to get to work with Chairman Rep. Bruce Westerman (AR-14) to end our mineral reliance on China, restore American energy independence, and preserve our gorgeous coastlines and unique ecosystem in Pinellas County — something close to my heart.

I signed onto a letter that my colleagues Rep. Dan Bishop and Sen. J.D. Vance sent to the Office of Management and Budget asking for a report on the total amount of funds being provided to Ukraine and countries impacted by the situation in Ukraine.

In no way, shape or form should American taxpayer dollars be sent to a foreign country to promote a proxy war when our own southern border isn't even secure. Calling for audits is a good step, and I will be pushing for much more to be done on this front.

I've never been one to back down from a fight. So when the mainstream media came after me (again) calling me a "white supremacist" because I happen to be a Conservative Mexican, I did not take that sitting down.

Within a week of me calling out MSNBC's defamatory claims, they had to update their article and retract statements they made about Turning Point USA .
